IPL 2025 was shocking, to say the least, from the point of view of the Rajasthan Royals (RR), given their inability to win a victory in the easiest situations. RR had finished third last season, going to the playoffs. However, their chances of presenting themselves in the Playoffs IPL 2025 seems almost done and dusted after the defeat by 11 points against RCB. On the other hand, the Gujarat titans (GT) were absolutely unstoppable this season after having failed to make their presence felt in IPL 2024.
With the race for the IPL 2025 playoffs massively, here is an overview of what each franchise must do to finish among the first four:
1) GT:
Two victories in six games should be enough for the franchise led by Shubman Gill, given their impressive NRR of 1.104. GT currently has 12 points. RR, SRH, Mi, DC, LSG and CSK will be their opponents in the remaining matches.
2) DC:
The Delhi -based franchise won 12 points in eight matches with an NRR of 0.657. DC must also win two victories in six games to seal a place in the playoff series. The team led by Axar Patel will face RCB, KKR, SRH, PBKS, GT and MI in the remaining League matches.
3) RCB:
The team led by Rajat Patidar is in a strong position following the impressive victory against RR. Currently third on the point table, RCB has 12 points on nine games. Two victories in the five remaining games will be sufficient from the point of view of the playoffs. DC, CSK, LSG, SRH and KKR will be RCB’s opponents in the next League games.
4) MI:
The franchise led by Hardya-Pandya is currently 10 points in nine games, after winning four consecutive victories. Three victories in the five remaining games will hold on a good place given the positive NRR of 0.673. Mi will face LSG, RR, GT, PBKS and DC in their remaining matches.

5) PBKS & LSG:
The two teams are currently placed in the fifth and sixth places of 2025 IPL dots table. PBKS has won 10 points in eight matches while LSG has 10 points in nine matches. PBKS will target three victories in their six remaining games while the road becomes more difficult for LSG which will have to win three victories in five games. The RRR of PBKS is 0.177 while the LSG has a relatively lower NRR of -0.054.

6) KKR:
The franchise led by Ajinkya Rahane will need something special to seal a place in the playoffs, since KKR won only six points after eight games. KKR will target five victories in their six remaining games, although six triumphs may well be necessary by considering the immense competition. The kolkata -based franchise should face PBKS, DC, RR, CSK, SRH and RCB in the upcoming meetings.
7) RR, SRH and CSK:
So far, the three teams have only won four points, indicating their bad campaigns. While SRH and CSK have so far played eight games, RR has played nine games. The three teams have a terrible NRR of -1.361, -1.392 and -0.625, respectively. Even five victories in as many matches could be insufficient for RR with regard to the sealing in the playoffs. SRH and CSK must win their six remaining games at all costs. The two teams will compete today at the Chepauk stadium in Chennai, meeting the match a match to be made for both sides.
