Following the FIR by Reddy, the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) launched a criminal case under several serious sections of the Indian Criminal Code, including counterfeiting, criminal violation of confidence and cheating. The sources have indicated that the conclusions of a vigilance and application report, which revealed shocking details, in particular how the officials of the Hyderabad Cricket Association would have harassed the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) for free tickets during IPL 2025, were taken into account by the CID.
The president of HCA used forged club papers to win the elections: CID
One of the biggest allegations is that Jagan Mohan Rao submitted a falsified document to contest the HCA elections. Even the investigators suspect that Rao and other high -level members of the HCA APEX Council were involved in improper use of an amazing crore of 2.32 crores of the association’s funds.
During their investigation, CID officials found that Jagan Mohan Rao had used a false member of the Cricket club to contest the elections of the Hyderabad Cricket Association 2023. He claimed to be a member of the Srichakra Cricket Club, which was previously known as Gowlipura Cricket Club, but the documents proved to be forged. He was a member of this local club.
A CID official was quoted by the Times of India: “Rao provided a forged subscription to the Gowlipura Cricket Club (rearched as Srichakra Cricket Club) to go to the elections and won.”

Meanwhile, the CID arrested the president of Gowlipura Cricket Club, G. Kavita, and her husband, Rajender Yadav, secretary general of the club, for having helped the president of the AHC to commit electoral fraud. CID officials also said that Rao, as well as Srinivas and Kante, have misused the association’s funds under the pretext of official work.

The request of the president of HCA aroused the indignation of the SRH in IPL 2025
In particular, the Hyderabad Cricket Association was faced with strong criticisms during the recent IPL 2025 for having demanded additional additional pass. Things took a serious turn when Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) accused HCA of having mistreated their team and even threatened to leave the city.
The SRH and HCA had an agreement of 3,900 free passes per match, but the president would have asked for 20 others. The situation worsened before the SRH IPL 2025 match against the Super Giants of Lucknow (LSG), when the VIP box for LSG owners would have been locked by the HCA president a few hours before the match, and they returned his public act.
