Australia Speedster Josh Hazlewood Responded to scathing criticisms of Mitchell Johnson, who occurred after the Greens Baggy failed to keep the Mace of the World Test of the World Test (WTC), losing the final against South Africa in Lord’s Cricket Ground. The old Australian stimulator accused Hazlewood of prioritizing the Premier Indian League (IPL) above the test cricket.
Hazlewood played a key role by helping the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) to win their IPL IPLUGAL title. He took 22 counters in 12 games at an average of 17.55. However, the IPL final was played on June 3, and the WTC final started from June 11. So Hazlewood did not have much time to react in red ball format. The right arm stimulator took a counter with each round against the Proteas and did not look at his best deadly.
“We have noticed concerns about Hazlewood’s physical condition in recent years, and its decision to prioritize the return to the Premier Indian League delayed on its preparations for the national team has raised your eyebrows,” Johnson in Western Australian wrote.
Hazlewood responded to this accusation by explaining why playing in the IPL was the best possible preparation he could have asked in the period before the most important match of this year in red ball cricket.
I have not seen anything of all this, to be honest. We know what’s going on in our rooms. He seemed by far the best place to prepare for any type of cricket that happened. Time was certainly a factor too. Award there and playing intense competition like that, it is difficult to reproduce in training, “Hazlewood told Sydney Morning Herald when he asked for the Johnson column.
“Sydney, it was raining and I had literally nowhere in the bowl. I arrived in Brisbane for three or four days and it was very wet. We had the chance to continue. I just thought the best place for Bowl was India. We were always in the competition, we were going to play the best option, ”concluded the fast jar.
