11 thoughts on ““What are you waiting for …”: ASHUL KAMBOJ gets the support of Kapil Dev after the start of ordinary tests”
  1. Context matters here – Ashul Kamboj is left arm pacer which India desperately needs in squad. He can swing ball both ways and has good bouncer. His hieght of 6’2″ gives him natural advantage. Kapil Dev probably seeing something in his action and temperment that statistics alone dont show.

  2. Oh great, another ‘next big thing’ anointed by retired player. Because that worked so well with all the other players Kapil Dev backed right? Meanwhile actualy performing players in IPL getting ignord.

  3. Finally some recognition for Haryana bowler! People forget Kapil Dev himself from Haryana and knows the strugle of players from smaller states. Ashul worked very hard and this endorsment means world to him I’m sure.

  4. Wow amazing! One decent performance and suddenly we found our World Cup winner. Why dont we just hand him Man of the Series award already and save everyone’s time?

  5. But why Kapil Dev opinion matters more than current coach and captain?? We have Dravid and Rohit who sees players everyday in nets. Respect to legend but this is creating unnecessary pressure on young player and confusing selection policy dont you think?

  6. Kapil Dev: ‘What are you waiting for’
Selectors: ‘Sir, for him to finish his tea break’ 😂😂 But seriously good for Ashul, atleast someone rooting for domestic performers!

  7. So everyone ignoring the fact that he played against weak batting lineups in domestic?? And now because legend said something we should fast track him to national team? What about players who performing in A tours and waiting for years? This is exact problem with Indian cricket – emotions over merit!

  8. Ordinary tests and he gets backing?? What kind of standar is this? International cricket is different level and one legend’s support doesnt change ground reality. We need consistent performers not media created stars.

  9. Kapil paaji always knows how to spot real talent! Ashul deserves all the suport he can get. His bowling in domestic cricket has been fenomenal and this backing will boost his confidance so much. Finally selectors are listening to legends.

  10. What ordinary test?? The guy barely took 3 wickets and everyone acting like he is next Bumrah. Media hype as usual, nothing more nothing less.

  11. For those wondering, Ashul Kamboj took 65 wickets in Ranji season with average of 19.8. His economy rate in first class cricket is also quite impressive at 2.9. These numbers definately caught Kapil Dev’s attention and rightfully so.
