RCB was one of the pants to represent India in the relaunched competition, after winning their first IPL title in 2025 after 18 years of title drought, triggering a celebration not only in Bengaluru but through India. Between 2009 and 2011, the RCB had already played 15 games in the former Champions T20 League, winning seven and losing eight, in the 2011 edition final.

A situation report published by the Karnataka government blamed RCB, its DNA Networks event partner, and the Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA) for the victory parade despite the police denial. BCCI again to make the final call

After the report, the discussions increased concerning the future participation of the RCB not only in the Champions League, but even in the future seasons of the IPL. There is no official declaration from the BCCI concerning a disciplinary measure.

With an ongoing CID survey and expected legal proceedings, RCB’s place in the club world championship is still not confirmed. If the RCB is ultimately considered inadmissible or withdraws from the tournament due to current surveys and legal complications, the Kings of Punjab, finalists in IPL 2025, could be online to take their place. 12 thoughts on “Will RCB be authorized to play in the Champions League T20 2026?”
  1. RCB will definitely play if CLT20 comes back!! They are one of the biggest franchise in IPL with massive fanbase. No way they would exclude us from any tournament. We have Virat and the best team ever assembled.

  2. You guys are all missing the point here. The real question isnt whether RCB will be authorized but whether the entire Champions League T20 format will return. ICC and BCCI had financial disputes and viewership was declining which is why they stopped it. Unless those issues are resolved, no team including RCB will play anything in 2026. Do your research before making assumptions

  3. The Champions League T20 was discontinued in 2015 after poor tv ratings and sponsor pullouts. For it to return in 2026, there would need to be official announcements from BCCI, CA and CSA who were the original organizers. As of now theres no credible source confirming its revival so this question is premature

  4. Oh great, RCB in Champions League! Maybe they can finally win a trophy there since they cant seem to win IPL after 15+ years of trying 😂

  5. Finally someone asking the real questions! For those who dont know, Champions League T20 was stopped after 2014 season due to lack of commercial interest. Unless theres a major revival announcement, RCB wont be playing in something that doesnt exist lol

  6. Imagine RCB finally winning Champions League before IPL 💀💀 that would be the most RCB thing ever

  7. Honestly I dont think RCB will get authorized for CLT20 2026. The tournament itself might not even happen again since it was discontinued in 2015 and theres been no offical announcement about bringing it back?? BCCI seems more focused on IPL expansion now.

  8. lol everyone talking like they know whats gonna happen in 2026. None of us have any idea if tournament will even exist or not so why bother arguing

  9. This whole discussion is pointless because CLT20 was officially discontinued and replaced by other tournaments. Even if it comes back in 2026, authorization would depend on IPL performance in 2025-26 season not on speculation now. Also the format, eligibility criteria everything could change so asking now makes zero sense tbh

  10. RCB in Champions League would be awesome to watch ngl. Their batting lineup is always entertaining even if they choke in finals haha

  11. RCB authorized?? First they need to learn how to win IPL lmaooo. Talking about Champions League when you have zero titles is peak comedy
