Yashasvi Jaiswal scored another half-century to continue his right record against England.
Yashasvi Jaiswal took on England captain Ben Stokes in a fiery exchange on Day 1 of the India vs England 2nd Test in Edgbaston. The Indian opener once again set the tone for the visitors after England put Shubman Gill and Co into bat in Birmingham. Jaiswal smashed yet another half-century, much to the annoyance of opposition skipper Stokes.

After India lost KL Rahul early, Yashasvi Jaiswal ensured his team were on the right track on Day 1 of the IND vs ENG 2nd Test. He dealt with a probing Chris Woakes, before taking the attack to the rest of the England attack at Edgbaston. Along with Karun Nair, Jaiswal stroked a fine partnership to put India in control of the proceedings.
With England on the backfoot, captain Ben Stokes and Yashasvi Jaiswal had an heated exchange. The duo had conversation while Jaiswal crossed over for a single, with the rumbling still going on while the left-hander was not on strike.
Stokes’ war of words with Jaiswal however had no impact on the Indian opener. Jaiswal stroked a stunning half-century inside the first session at Edgbaston. The left-hander stroked a fine 62 off just 69 balls. The Mumbai batter nailed 11 boundaries in the first session, with Josh Tongue taking a particular beating.
