Pirates of Pittsburgh have the opportunity to continue their series to spoil the post-season hopes of other teams when they open a three-game road series against the Giants of San Francisco on Monday evening.

The pirates, the last club in the National Central League, struck Rock Bottom last Sunday when they were beaten for the third time at home by the team with the least victories of the American League, the Chicago White Sox.

But with Tommy Pham by 9 for 20, Spencer Horwitz leading to seven points and the enclosure of the successors who arrived roughly to close three whitening victories, Pittsburgh rebounded with three consecutive victories on the first Tigers of Detroit Tigers before taking two of the three of the Arizona DiamondBacks race, one of the rivals Playoff.

The pirates are on such a beautiful race, at least one player changed his state of mind, the possibility of being exchanged before the deadline on Friday which could reach the team to feed an even better finishing burst.

“This is something on which I have no control,” insisted the central field player Oneil Cruz in front of his locker after Sunday’s victory. “The one who comes to help us win is welcome. We will do our best to welcome him in the right direction.”

One of the most popular pirates of commercial rumors will have another showcase as a window when the right-hander Mitch Keller (4-10, 3.53 ERA) takes up the mound in the opening of the series in San Francisco.

The 29-year-old was 1-9 with an MPM of 4.15 on June 10 before finding a pace that saw him go 3-1 with an MPM of 2.32 in his last seven departures. He contributed to the big week of the pirates who has just paid with six three-point ball handles in an 8-5 victory against the Tigers last Tuesday.

Keller will make his fifth beginning of his career against the Giants, against whom he went 1-2 with an MPM of 4.91 in 22 rounds during their first four head to head.

One day after having divided the pitching tasks among seven guys into an enclosure game of the lifts, the Giants will promote Carson Whisenhunt of Triple-A Sacramento to oppose Keller during his beginnings in the big league.

The 24-year-old left-handed started 18 games for Sacramento this season, going 8-5 with an MPM of 4.42, 28 walks and 86 stick withdrawals in 97 2/3 innings.

The Giants would love to offer their new teammate more support than their launchers obtained three -game scanning at the New York Mets, when San Francisco has only totaled five points. The Giants did not get 23 bats with runners in score position in the series.

In order to add more firepower to the programming, the manager of the Giants Bob Melvin gave Rafael Devers two departures to the first goal against the dishes. This allowed Wilmer Flores, the most productive striker in San Francisco in the first half of the season, to get nine bundles in the series – eight as DH, one as a pinch striker – during which he had three strokes.

But Devers had a nightmarish night on the ground during the defeat on Saturday, which Melvin adopted an surprisingly optimistic opinion when asked journalists to assess the performances after the match.

“I’m glad he had a bunch of bullets (in the game),” insisted Melvin. “The more he gets like that, the more there are games between the two and games where he has to make a decision on the fact that he covers first or that he will get the ball … All these things will be good for him at the end of the day.”

The clubs will meet in a revenge next week in Pittsburgh, perhaps with different staff after the deadline for trade.
