Not sure why they appoint him, Nayar maybe good player but as coach little risk. WPL need solid plan not just hype. I not convinced this will work long term.
Brilliant plan, Up Warriorz, hire a guy for his face value. Im sure the team will play like champions now, yeah right. next season will show if he actually knows how to coach not talk.
From the information available this move by Up Warriorz sign that they want to leverage Nayar’s IPL experience. He will have to work with players, support staff and analysts to implement a clear plan. This is different from being a player so expectations should be realistic.
oh wonderful, yet another ex-player stepping into coaching without any fresh ideas. Must be that the magic happens when you wave a wand and call it strategy. WPL will probably still loose more games than win cause of this.
This appointment should be seen as part of long term strategy. Nayar has to adapt to a coaching role which demands different skillset from playing. He will need to work on planning, training, and player development along with data and video analysis. We’ll see how it goes in the first few months.
Congratulation to Abhishek Nayar, hope this journey brings good things for Up Warriorz and WPL. Its always nice to see former players moving into coaching roles. May be he will inspire youngsters with his leadership.
Really happy to hear Abhishek Nayar got the job, big congrats to him and Up Warriorz. This could bring some fresh energy to the team and WPL. Hope he do great and fans support him all the way.
Ha ha, Up Warriorz got a coach who can handle both coffee breaks and tactics. That might be the only thing he can manage well. Seriously, i hope the players bring their A-game though.
I disagree that this appointment is best for Up Warriorz. If they choose coaches on basis of name rather than proven coaching record, it will fail again. There should be a transparent process with multiple candidates and data behind the decision.
