This is actualy a pretty solid trade for both teams i think. Gushchin has more upside offensivly and fits the Avs timeline better. Olausson gonna get more ice time in SJ too which is good for his developement.
breaking news: two guys nobody has heard of get traded and suddenly everyones a NHL scout 😂😂 half this sub couldnt even name 5 players on the sharks roster before today

wtf are the avs doing?? Olausson was suposed to be our next top 6 forward and we trade him for a smaller guy who barely played in the nhl. This makes NO sense at all!!!
I’ve watched Gushchin alot in the AHL and hes realy skilled, but idk if he can translate that to NHL level consistently. Size is concern but his hockey IQ is elite. Time will tell if this works out for Colorado.

For those who dont follow both teams: Gushchin is 22 yrs old, had 50+ points in AHL last season and got some NHL time. Olausson is 21, also dominated AHL but different style – bigger power forward type. Both high ceiling prospects, honestly fair value trade.
Gushchin’s skating and creativity is exactly what Bednar likes. Yeah he’s small but so is Point, so is Kucherov (kinda). If he can stay healthy this could be a sneaky good pickup for the avs depth.
I mean both guys are prospects who might never pan out anyway so does it even matter?? lol people acting like we traded mackinnon
