This is absolutely ridiculos decision making. Stokes exclusion makes no sense whatsoever when hes our best all-rounder. Management is compleatly out of touch with reality.
This could actualy work out well. Fresh legs with Bethell returning and Archer getting proper rest means theyll be in top form for the next series. Sometimes rotation is necesary for long term success even if it hurts short term.
Oh great, another ‘strategic rest’ for Archer. Because nothing says winning strategy like resting your key bowlers before crucial matches. Im sure the opposition is terrified now.
People saying Bethell is the answer clearly havent been watching cricket. He had one good season and now everyones acting like hes the next big thing. What about his terrible record against spin?
For those wondering, Bethell averaged 42.5 in his last county season and took 23 wickets. Archer has bowled 156 overs in the past 6 weeks which is why the rest was necessary. Stokes exclusion is likely precautionary given his knee issues from the previous match.
Why even have Bethell back honestly? His performance last time was mediocre at best and thats being generous.
So let me get this straight – we rest Archer who’s actually fit, exclude Stokes who’s our captain, and bring back Bethell who hasnt played international cricket in months? Someone explain how this makes any tactical sense because I must be missing something here.

Finaly some good news with Bethell coming back! The team has been strugling without him and his return couldnt come at better time. Archer needs the rest anyway hes been carrying an injury for weeks now.
