England has made 4 modifications, which includes the creation of three new pacers and a versatile for their sponsor.

Captain of England Ben Stokes was excluded from the oval test with a shoulder injury. The versatile had problems with its hamstrings and shoulders while bowling in the last two days in Manchester. Despite the pain, Stokes continued to play. And now he and England will pay for this.

Stokes injured outside the oval test

Stokes pushed his body too far, which included the bowling of an 8 spell on the fifth day. He was seen touching his shoulder and Hammy after each ball, but continued to play. Now Stokes has been excluded from the 5th India VS England test with a right shoulder injury. In the absence of stokes, Ollie Pope will direct the team.

“Disappointed. Decent decent in the muscles that I cannot pronounce. I came here this morning by trying to find ways to contribute to the stick. After discussions with the medical team, it was decided. The risk was much too high. I did not expect someone else in my place too,” Stokes told oval journalists.

“Yes, maybe planning could be done better. Two tests have experienced eight or nine days, and we also have two three-day shortcomings. It could be done better, as perhaps a difference of four or five days for each test to maintain consistency”, “ Stokes said on game planning.

Archer and capssed cap, Dawson fell

Stokes was replaced by Jamie Overton, who was the only addition to the England team for the oval test. All-Rond-Rond-rhythm like Stokes, Overton is a comparable replacement. But there are three other changes. England also rested Jofra Archer and Brydon Carse.

Cane played the first four test games, while Acher, who returns after 4 years, played two games on the trot and was put on the bench to manage his workload. Gus Atkinson and Josh Tongue will replace him.

Liam Dawson, who returned to test cricket after 8 years, was abandoned. Surrey, the oval home team used to play 4 front line pacers on the site and succeeded. England seems to follow the same method. Jacob Bethell came for Dawson, but the main reason for his selection is his striker.

  1. Archers workload managment is crucial especially considering his injury history. He’s bowled over 150 overs recently and fast bowlers need adequate recovery time to prevent breakdowns. The Stokes situation is less clear but could be related to his chronic knee problems that have been documented throughout the season.

  2. Stokes excluded? Sure, why not. Lets just exclude all our best players while were at it. Maybe we can forfeit the match entirely and save everyone the trouble of watching this disaster unfold lol

  3. At this point I think the team selection is being done by drawing names from a hat. Theres no other explanation for these bizzare decisions week after week. Are we trying to lose on purpose?

  4. Love how everyone becomes a expert selector in the comments lmao. Like any of you know better than the actual coaching staff who see these players train everyday.

  5. This is absolutely ridiculos decision making. Stokes exclusion makes no sense whatsoever when hes our best all-rounder. Management is compleatly out of touch with reality.

  6. This could actualy work out well. Fresh legs with Bethell returning and Archer getting proper rest means theyll be in top form for the next series. Sometimes rotation is necesary for long term success even if it hurts short term.

  7. Oh great, another ‘strategic rest’ for Archer. Because nothing says winning strategy like resting your key bowlers before crucial matches. Im sure the opposition is terrified now.

  8. People saying Bethell is the answer clearly havent been watching cricket. He had one good season and now everyones acting like hes the next big thing. What about his terrible record against spin?

  9. For those wondering, Bethell averaged 42.5 in his last county season and took 23 wickets. Archer has bowled 156 overs in the past 6 weeks which is why the rest was necessary. Stokes exclusion is likely precautionary given his knee issues from the previous match.

  10. So let me get this straight – we rest Archer who’s actually fit, exclude Stokes who’s our captain, and bring back Bethell who hasnt played international cricket in months? Someone explain how this makes any tactical sense because I must be missing something here.

  11. Finaly some good news with Bethell coming back! The team has been strugling without him and his return couldnt come at better time. Archer needs the rest anyway hes been carrying an injury for weeks now.
