The star of Gujarat Titans (GT), R Sai Kishore, supported his shaving Rashid Khan to regain his form while the Premier Indian (IPL) comes at the end of trade. With only six counters in eight games, Rashid is in the middle of his worst IPL season. However, former Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) was one of the off -competition artists while GT beat the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) on Monday. Rashid has returned with 2/25 figures, his best of the season so far, helping GT to restrict KKR to 159/8 in pursuit of 199 at the Eden gardens.
After the match, the former England striker Nick Knight, who is part of the panel of comments, questioned Kishore on the form of Rashid so far this season.
“What about Rashid Khan? Your twin spin. This is not the ideal tournament for him. But a few counters (today) in crucial time, how is it for him?” asked Knight in the post-match presentation.
To this, Kishore described Rashid as “best bowling player T20” and that the whole team trusts him to do well as the tournament progresses. Kishore also searched commentators to question the form of Rashid, which Knight assured that he also wanted the player to do well.
“He is one of the best T20 quarrers in the world. He finds his talent as a counter. As a team, we do not doubt his abilities, I do not know what it looks like in the comments box. We all believe in him and I always believe that he is the best T20 bowler in the world,” replerates Kishore.
“We never doubt him. That is why we want him to do well,” said Knight.
Returning to the match, Shubman Gill led forward with his 55-ball 90 to help GT Hammer, KKR by 39 points.
Posted 198-3 after Sai Sudharsan, who struck 52 years old, and Gill made 114 points for the first window to lay the Total foundations in Eden Gardens.
The counters then combined to restrict Kolkata to 159-8 with the skipper Ajinkya Rahane playing a lonely hand with 50 to record the sixth victory of Gujarat in eight games.
KKR, who won his third T20 popular tournament title last year, slipped to his fifth defeat in eight games.
The strikers set up a victory for Gujarat with Jos Buttler of England hitting an undefeated 41 balls of 23 bullets while heading the team after the opening stand between Southharsan and Gill.
