Fine half-century skipper Shreyas Iyer and Prabhsimran Singh and a hat-trick from Yuzvendra Chahal were the highlights while the Kings of Punjab (PBKS) obtained a victory with four gates over Chennai Super Kings (CSK) at Stadium Chepauk on Wednesday. PBKS is now in second place in the table with six victories, three defeats and a result without result, which gave them 13 points. CSK is at the bottom, with two victories and eight defeats, which gave them four points. Official IPL 2025 broadcasters said the CSK was now the first team to be eliminated from the playoff race.
During the 191 -point race, PBKs Ouvers Priyansh Arya and Prabhsimran Singh resumed where they had stopped in the previous match, triggering a serious strike.
Priyansh found borders against the Pacers Khaleel Ahmed and Ashhul Kambhoj, while Prabhsimran was not far either. However, the quick stand of 44 points between these two ended with Khaleel obtaining Priyansh for 23 in 15 balls, with five ovens. Mrs. Dhoni took a nice plug behind the stumps. PBKS was 44/1 in 4.4 Overs.
The skipper Shreyas Iyer finished the power game with a beautiful limit against Ravindi Jadeja, beating the deep square leg backwards, raising the mark of 50 points in six overs, with himself (5 *) and Prabhsimran (21 *) Invainu.
Shreyas was slow to settle down, while Prabhsimran continued to feast on the noor Ahmed and Jadeja spinners.
In the middle of the sleeves, PBKS was 88/1, with Shreyas (23 *) and Prabhsimran (40 *) Invainu.
The first on Matheesha Pathirana disclosed 14 points, raising the second fifty of the Prabhsimran tournament and the third in 31 balls, with five four and three. PBKS has also reached the brand of 100 points in 11 Overs.
Pathirana gave CSK the breakthrough they needed, obtaining Prabhsimran for 54 in 36 bullets, with five four and three. PBKS was 116/2 in 13 Overs.
Shreyas continued to carry out the accusation against CSK, raising his fourth fifty of the tournament in 32 bullets, with four limits and two.
However, Wadhera was removed by Pathirana, thanks to an amazing jadeja for only five. PBKS was 136/3 in 14.3 Overs.
Iyer increased the attack on Pathirana, plundering 20 points, including two six and a four. In the next one, after Shashank Singh struck Jadeja for four and six, he replied by removing him for 23 in 17 balls, with four and two. PBKS was 180/4 in 17.3 Overs.
Pathirana had the last laugh on Iyer, at least in their battle, while he was cleaning it for 72 in just 41 bullets, with five four and four. PBKS was 188/5 in 18.4 Overs.
Suryansh Shegde was dismissed in the final, but Pbks won, finishing 194/6 in 19.4 Overs, with Josh Inglis (6 *) and Marco Jansen (4 *) undefeated.
Khaleel Ahmed (28/28) and Pathirana (2/45) were the best fellowships for CSK, but he went in vain.
The hopes of CSK of the 200 -point brand violation were destroyed by a sensational spell of the kings of Punjab (PBKS) Yuzvendra Chahal, who claimed his second triplet of the Indian Premier League (IPL) to help restrict the home team to 190 in 19.2 Overs.
Despite a career record of 88 balls of 47 Sam Curran bullets against his former team, CSK faced a dramatic collapse of death.
By opting to beat first, CSK’s sleeves had a trembling start while the young opening duo of Shaik Rasheed and Ayush Mhatre struggled. Rasheed was the first to leave, managing only 11 out of 12 balls before being abducted by Arshdeep Singh with the scoring at 21. Mhatre immediately followed in the next one, falling to Marco Jansen for only 7, leaving the hosts to 22/2.
Raviundi Jadeja tried to stabilize the sleeves with a quick 17 out of 12 deliveries but was rejected by Harpreet BRAR, which made him 48/3. It was then that Dewald Brevis joined Curran in the middle, and the duo sewn a well -necessary partnership of 78 points to resuscitate the sleeves.
Brevis played a hand made up of 32 before being cleaned by Azmatullah Omarzai. Curran, who had been the sleeve basher, continued to attack the quisors. His stock -up included nine limits and four, helping the CSK recovering from the first setbacks. However, he was finally dismissed by Jansen with the 172/5 reading score.
The CSK skipper, MS Dhoni, played a short but punchy cameo, marking 11 on only 4 bullets, including a limit and an imposing six, before falling to Chahal. It was the moment that changed the situation. Chahal, in a brilliant display of rotation of the wrist, crossed the lower order with a superb hat – reappearing Deepak Hooda, Ashul Kamboj and Noor Ahmad in successive deliveries. Its latest figures of 4/32 in three Overs highlighted its impact.
Arshdeep returned to reject Shivam Dube for 6, and CSK was overthrown for 190 in 19.2 Overs – in less than a potential of 200 in total.
In addition to the heroism of Chahal, Arshdeep and Jansen picked up two counters each, while Omarzai and Brar cut with each.
In short, scores: CSK: 190 (Sam Curran 88, Dewald Brevis 32, Yuzvendra Chahal 4/32) Lost against Pbks: 194/6 in 19.4 Overs (Shreyas Iyer 71, Prabhsimran Singh 54, Khaleel Ahmed 2/28).
