However, in a recently reported flight, the BCCI office security guard at the Wankhede stadium seemed to have taken the desire at another level, because he stole an entire box full of jerseys of the BCCI store.

According to reports from the Times of India, the alleged guardian, 40 years old, took the full card of jerseys, which was supposed to contain a total of 261 jerseys, which were worth 6.52 Lakh INR by the BCCI.

The incident took place at the BCCI office of the Wankhede Stadium in Churchgate, where he took a box full of jerseys costing about 2,500 each.

Although the flight was probably produced on June 13, it came in the opinion of the BCCI during a recently conducted audit report, which found differences in the stock. Video surveillance images revealed that the alleged security guard taking a box full of jerseys. BCCI officials filed a complaint for police at the Marine Drive police station on July 17.

The officials reported: “The goalkeeper claims that he has walked a little with the online concessionaire, but he has not yet specified how much he has obtained for the agreement.”

The alleged security guard, named Farooque Aslam Khan, sold the box full of online jerseys to a dealer in Haryana whom he had met on social networks. He would have sold the title to finance his dependence on the online game.

The BCCI has not yet confirmed if the jerseys were supposed to be for the players or the general public who would buy them officially. The guard himself lives in Mira Road in Mumbai and sold the jerseys online while the money was credited on his account.

Police summoned the dealer based in Haryana for investigation, to which he replied, saying that he did not know that the jerseys sold to him had been stolen. The goalkeeper may have told the concessionaire that the whole lot was part of a stock authorization due to the renovation of the BCCI office.

Only 50 of these 261 jerseys have been recovered, while the guard claims that he lost all the money in the online game, as revealed by the source you. The police will check their bank account to check the details.

BCCI generated record income in FY24

The IPL has proven to be a real golden goose for the BCCI, because it contributes to almost 60% of their income, and it played a crucial role in the record increase in the BCCI in income during the year 2024.

The IPL is now 100% of the BCCI and has marked a huge jump of income, and also popularized the game in the country. BCCI generated an annual turnover of 9741.7 Brokes during the year 2023-24. The IPL alone increased an income of around 5761 INR crores (approximately). Even the ICC depends largely on the BCCI for most of its funding.
