Rishabh Pant came out to beat once again despite a fractured toe on day 2 of the 4th Ind Vs Eng test at Manchester

When Rishabh Pant has grimacted with pain and had to be swept away on the field on the first day of the Manchester test, few imagined that he would come back to play an additional role in the game. But as for India’s limited and limited experience in the strikers, the Maverick sleeve was released to stun everyone the next day. India needed him and he delivered with fifty necessary.

If that was not enough, the vice-captain of India should put himself in danger once again. According to India’s striker coach Sitanshu Kotak, Pant will once again happen in his quest to save the fourth test at Old Trafford. Pant is backtracking again in the fourth rounds, although it was not certain to be unavailable for the fifth and last test in London.

Pant declaration

The problems of Rishabh Pant began when he tried an inverted scan against Chris Woakes on day 1, to be struck with flush on the right foot. He collapsed in agony and had to be helped, with initial analyzes confirming a fractured metatarsian. The reports came that the medical experts excluded it for at least six weeks.

But Pant had other plans. Day 2, ignoring medical advice and pain, he went out to beat after the fall of Shardul Thakur. By boiling, but fearless, he took English quisors and broke half a century counterattack, delighting the crowd of Old Trafford. It was indeed a declaration.

In Stums on day 4, India had 174/2 in its second rounds, still dragging England by 137 points. Despite the first blows of the lost openers Yashasvi Jaiswal and Sai Sudharsan, Shubman Gill and Kl Rahul put a provocative position to stabilize the sleeves. Their partnership kept India in the game, but with a full day, the work is far from over.

This is where Pant’s return becomes crucial. Without him, India would indeed be a short striker, which India cannot afford against a quality English attack against a deterioration ground of day 5. “Rishabh will beat tomorrow“Kotak confirmed to journalists after day 4 of the Manchester test.

  1. Oh yes, such bravery to score runs when your already losing the test match. Real courage would of been showing up in first inning when it actually mattered lol.

  2. This is exactly the kind of attitude we need going forward! Pant didnt give up even when situation looked hopless. If all players show same fighting spirit we can win remaining tests. Proud of you Rishabh, keep going strong! 🇮🇳

  3. For those intrested in numbers – Pant scored 89 runs of 138 balls with strike rate over 64 on a day 5 wicket where average scoring rate was around 2.5 runs per over. He hit 13 fours and 1 six. This was India’s highest individual score in fourth innings at Old Trafford since 2007.

  4. People saying Pant is better than Dhoni need to check there facts! Dhoni won us World Cup, Champions Trophy, and countless matches. What has Pant won? One good inning doesnt make you great. Consistency matters more then one off performances. Change my mind if you can!

  5. Pant to English bowlers: «You guys getting paid for this?» 😂😂 Man was literally playing gully cricket out there while everyone else forgot how to hold bat properly hahaha

  6. It was good knock no doubt. But we shouldnt ignore the fact that other batsman failed misserably. Team effort is what wins matches not individual brilliance. Hope everyone learns from this and comes back stronger next test.

  7. Right, because hitting boundaries on day 5 pitch is totaly the same as winning the match. Absolutely brilliant strategy – lose by innings but atleast one guy gets his century. Genius level cricket right there!

  8. What an absolut legend! Pant showed why he’s the best wicketkeeper batsman in world cricket right now. The way he took on bowlers on day 5 pitch was just insain. We need more players with this kind of mentality in our team!

  9. Honestly people are overrating this inning way to much. Yes he played well but lets not forget he got lucky with few edges that didnt carry to slip. England bowled poorly and thats why he scored runs, simple as that.

  10. Where was this courage in WTC final?? Where was this agression when we needed it most?? Always performing when match is already gone. Sick and tired of this inconsistant behaviour!!

  11. What impressed me most was his footwork against spin and the way he neutralized reverse swing. His technique against Anderson in rough was particularly noteable – he was using crease very well and his shot selection improved alot compared to previous series. Shows his growing as batsman.
