Eng vs ind 4th test: Nasser Hussain slaps Ben Stokes for having launched the ball at Harry Brook - `` he looked silly ''

Former England captain Nasser Hussain criticized Ben Stokes for his “silly” reaction after launching the ball at Harry Brook in what seemed to be a protest mark. The drama took place in the Anderson-Tendulkar trophy match at Manchester on Sunday after the Indian strikers Ravira Jadeja and Washington Sundar refused the Skipper of England Ben Stokes to cancel the fourth test and to settle for a draw before the start of the last hour of play.Having worked hard to win a credible draw, Jadeja and Washington – striking 89 and 80 respectively – categorically refused the offer of Stokes after approaching the referee, which thwarted the endless captain of England.“I had no problem with that. I mean, I know England seemed to have a problem with that,” said Nasser Hussain on Sky Sports.“They are a little tired – tired quisors, tired legs – they wanted to go down. The two guys had worked hard to enter the 80s and 90s; They wanted test matches.“Stokes did not have to play in Brook, and it looked a little silly at the end, but we were doing far too much of these things. They played well, they deserved a draw, they deserved to be there at the end.“All credit to India. It is only the second print of England under this Bazball regime – the other on this ground also, because of the rain. This was a draw simply because England could not drive on the two left -handers, which were brilliant.”

Do you agree with Nasser Hussain’s point of view according to which Ben Stokes’ reaction was “silly”?

Stokes had a few words to say, and Zak Crawley and Ben Duckett were also seen asking why India wanted to continue.“Do you want to mark a hundred against Harry Brook?” Asked Stokes sarcastically, what Jadeja simply replied: “I can’t do anything.”A smiling jadeja maintained his grace and checked them, because India – in accordance with the rules – was right to continue to strike. In what seemed to be a protest mark, Stokes introduced Harry Brook into the attack, and Jadeja hit him for a six to finish his third test.

  1. LOL imagine being England captain and you cant even throw a ball straight at the stumps 😂 My 8 year old nephew has better aim than that! Brook probly laughed all the way back to the pavillion after seeing that attempt hahaha

  2. Nasser is absolutely spot on here!! Ben shouldnt have done that, he looked like a complete muppet throwing the ball at Brook like that. What was he even thinking?? This is test cricket not some backyard game with ur mates

  3. Oh yes, because throwing the ball wildly and missing everything is such a brilliant captaincy move. Really shows great leadership skills there Ben. Im sure the whole team was super impressed by that display of coordination and decision making lol

  4. Typical Nasser always criticizing everything. Maybe he should focus on his comentary skills instead of slamming players who are actually out there playing. Stokes has done more for English cricket than Hussain ever did.

  5. For those who didn’t watch: This incident happened when Brook was backing up too far and Stokes threw the ball at the stumps. It’s actually a legitimate tactical move in cricket, though the execution was poor. The ball went wide and Stokes attempt looked amateurish, which is probabaly why Nasser critisized it so harshly.

  6. Fair point by Hussain though. The timing was awfull and it didnt look good for team morale. When your own captain throws at you like that it creates tension even if Brook was backing up to far. Could of just warned him verbaly first.

  7. I completly disagree with Hussain on this one. Stokes was well within his rights to throw at the stumps if Brook was backing up. Its called mankading and its perfectly legal!! Why should the batsman get away with taking unfair advantage? Nasser needs to understand modern cricket better

  8. “He looked silly” – wow what insightful analysis from Nasser! Next he’ll tell us that when players drop catches they should of held onto the ball instead. Absolutely groundbreaking cricket commentary right there folks.

  9. Nasser making drama out of nothing as usual. It was one throw that didnt work out, big deal. Players make mistakes all the time in games this is why Englands test team struggles they have too much negativity around them from ex-players instead of support
