  1. 72 is way to young man. Another boxing great gone too soon. The sport really doesnt take care of its fighters like it should.

  2. Oh great, another boxing legend we only remember when they die. Where were all you fans when he needed support during his life? Typical.

  3. Everyone always talks about how great he was but lets be real, he lost most of his biggest fights. Spinks beat him twice, Holyfield destroyed him. He was good but not THAT good.

  4. For those who dont know, Qawi was the WBC and WBA light heavyweight champion in the 80s. He also competed at cruiserweight where he held the WBA title. His real name was Dwight Braxton before converting to Islam. Known for his incredible durability and relentless fighting style despite being relatively short for his weight class at 5’7″.

  5. RIP to a true legend. Qawi was one of the most fearsome fighters of his era, guy had a iron chin and could take punishment like no other. His fights with Spinks were absolutly incredible to watch. Condolences to his family and friends.

  6. so sad, boxing really needs better healthcare for retired fighters. these guys sacrifice there bodys and brains and then get nothing

  7. Qawi vs Spinks II is still one of my favorite fights ever. The way he kept coming forward no matter what was just amazing. He earned evry penny he made in that ring.
