This is absolutely ridiculous decision by Gambhir. How can you even think of dropping Bumrah?? He is our best bowler and your replacing him with someone who dont even have experience. Kuldeep is good but timing is all wrong.
For those wondering about stats – Kuldeep have taken 24 wickets in 7 Tests at Oval conditions are suited for him. Akash Deep performed well in domestic circuit with 45 wickets last season average of 21.3. Weather forecast shows overcast condition which might help swing bowlers.

But what about the team balance? If Akash Deep fails to perform then whole bowling attack become weak. Also Kuldeep haven’t played international cricket for months so match fitness is question mark too.

Finally some sense prevailing! Kuldeep deserved this chance long back. His record speaks for itself and Gambhir knows how to back spinners. But replacing Bumrah with Akash Deep? Thats a bold move man, hope it doesnt backfire badly.

Actually this could work out. Oval pitch traditionally helps spinners in 4th and 5th day and Kuldeep can exploit that. As for Akash Deep he shown promise and everyone deserves chance sometime right?
