After an eruption of four goals that brought their attack on the right track, the earthquakes of San Jose will be at least close to their home when they welcome the Los Angeles Galaxy on Saturday in another edition of California Clasico.

The team’s first game in the Bay region in a month will take place at the Stanford Stadium while the teams renew their rivalry with 40,000 tickets already sold for the match.

Earthquakes (7-7-5, 26 points) come after a 4-2 victory over FC Dallas on Wednesday. Cristian Arango, Josef Martinez and Beau Leroux gave goals to San Jose to overcome a deficit of 1-0. Mark-Anthony Kaye scored in the second half-time time.

With seven victories this season, the earthquakes have succeeded in their total of six of last season when they finished in the last place of the Western Conference. They enter the match on Saturday in fifth place.

“We have just moved on to something else,” said Captain of San Jose Cristian Espinosa, when he was asked to compare last season with him. “At the start of the season, we knew that the club made a huge effort to bring good players to the team, and the guys respond on the field. I am really happy for the team because this year is going well, and now we have to continue in the same way.”

The galaxy (1-13-5, 8 points) continued its terrible season with a 2-0 defeat against the rapids of Colorado on Wednesday. They failed to score a goal for the eighth time in MLS Play.

“We will put one behind us, we will come back and we will go on the weekend,” said Galaxy head coach Greg Vanney. “They understand what it is to play in San Jose and it is a classico. I played them not so long ago, we have a fairly good sense of what they will look like and how the game will try to be played.”

Before Wednesday, the most recent match in Los Angeles aimless was in a home defeat 1-0 against San Jose on May 28. Ousseni Bouda scored the only goal of the match.

Christian Ramirez leads the galaxy with four goals, but did not score in the last nine games – while leaving the bench in each of the last five competitions.

Los Angeles continues to play without the star midfielder Riqui Puig, who left with a knee injury in the playoffs of last season.

Saturday’s match is the 104th edition of the California Clasico rivalry with Los Angeles with an advantage of 50-34-19.
