I completly disagree with Manjrekar here!! Your telling me Jadeja and Ashwin cant bat? They both have centuries in test cricket. And what about Dhruv Jurel who showed good temperment in previous match?? This is just typical negative journalism trying to create drama where there isnt any.
Manjrekar is absolutely right tbh. Gill and Rahul played brilliantly but our middle order is still a big concern. Day 5 pitch will be nightmare, lets see how they handle the pressure tommorow.

He’s not wrong though is he? The middle order has collapsed pretty badly this whole series. Yes Gill-Rahul partnership is excelent news but we need more than just two batsmen firing. Day 5 will test everyones technique and mental strength, specially against quality spin bowling of England.
Why always so negative Manjrekar?? These boys just saved the match and your already doubting them. Give some credit where its due man! This kind of comentary is what kills confidence.
For those who dont follow cricket closely – Day 5 pitches in India typically offer lot of turn and uneven bounce. The partnership between Gill and Rahul was crucial as they saw off the new ball. However Manjrekar’s concern is valid because beyond these two, India’s batting hasnt shown much resistence this series. If early wickets fall tomorrow, England spinners will be all over us.
Fair assesment actually. Gill and Rahul did well to stablize but lower order hasnt inspired confidence. Realistic concern for Day 5.
