One of the most captivating aspects of T20 leagues based on franchises like the Indian Premier League (IPL) is the prices that players wear. IPL draws attention not only for cricket, but also for high issues auctions where the teams spend crores for players who, they believe, can help them win the trophy.
While some players justify their heavy price labels with winning performance, others fail to deliver. But there is a less discussed third category – players who do not even have the chance to prove their value. Whether due to fitness problems or team combinations, a certain number of players at high prices IPL 2025 are still playing this season.
Here is an overview of some of the players who have been signed for RS 2 or more but who are not yet in the current tournament:
Mayank Yadav – Lucknow Super Giants (RS 11 crore)
Mayank Yadav turned heads in IPL 2024 with its raw rhythm, regularly reaching speeds greater than 150 km / h. He established the record for the victory of the consecutive players of the match in his first two games and even made his T20I debut for India after playing only four IPL games.
Recognizing his potential, LSG kept him for a huge RS 11 crore. However, the injuries have once again kept the young stimulator on the sidelines. Fortunately for LSG, Mayank joined the team led by Rishabh Pant after the BCCI authorization and should return soon.
Despite an incoherent departure, LSG has rebounded and is currently sitting just outside the top four with five wins in eight games. Mayank’s return could be a huge boost as they pressure for a place in the playoffs.
T natarajan – Delhi capital (Rs 10.75 crores)
Known for his peaks-yorkers and his calm under pressure, T Natarajan was an outside competition for Sunrisers Hyderabad in 2024, finishing as their largest nod with 19 cooked in the sky. The Capitals of Delhi went for auction, guaranteeing it for Rs 10.75 crore.
Surprisingly, halfway through IPL 2025, Natarajan has not yet appeared. With 67 counters in 61 IPL games, his experience should be an asset, but the current DC attack – led by Mitchell Starc, Mukesh Kumar and Mohit Sharma – worked well, and Natarajan would not be 100% for the moment.
DC is comfortably seated in second place with five wins in seven games.

Jacob Bethell – Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RS 2.6 crores)
The versatile amount of England Jacob Bethell has been recovered by Royal Challengers Bengaluru for 2.6 breaks of rupees after a year in small groups where he made his debut in all formats for England.
A dynamic left paste, a practical spinner and an electric field player, Bethell presented for the last time for England in an ODI in Nagpur earlier this year. Although the RCB has shown a strong form – winning five of their eight games – they relied on Liam Livingstone and now Romario Shepherd in the versatile slit abroad.
With the end of the approaching company and the probable team rotations, Bethell could still get a shot to contribute this season.
Gerald Coetzee – Gujarat Titans (RS 2,4 crore)
The young South African stimulator was bought by Gujarat Titans for RS 2.4 crosses after an impressive passage with the Mumbai Indians in 2024, where he picked up 13 counters in 10 games.
Despite its entirely format references and international experience, Coetzee has not yet burst into the GT game to XI. The Titans stole with five victories of seven games, thanks largely to their formidable Bowling program led by Prasidh Krishna, Mohammed Siraj and spinners like Sai Kishore and Rashid Khan.
Even the absence of Kagiso Rabada did not open the door to Coetzee. However, as the league progresses, injuries and fatigue can put it under the spotlight.
Rahmanullah Gurbaz – Kolkata Knight Riders (RS 2 crores)
The opener and guardian of Afghanistan, Rahmanullah Gurbaz, has been with KKR since 2023 and was signed for Rs 2 crosses in the mega auction. Although it is part of their configuration for two seasons and has 14 games in total, Gurbaz has not played a single match this year.
KKR chose to go with Kock Quinton, which was quite consistent, including a higher score of 97. With the champions in title languid in the lower half of the table, the management of the team can hesitate to make drastic changes.
Unless Kock weakens or KKR resumes their combination, Gurbaz’s chances seem limited.
