Lol he wants to imitate Sachin but can he even handle pressure like the master did?? Root always crumbles when England really need him the most. Just another overhyped english player if you ask me.
Everyone keeps comparing them but your missing the point completely. Sachin played against peak Mcgrath, Warne, Akram, Pollock and other legends when pitches were way more bowler friendly. Root scores most of his runs on flat english wickets against mediocre bowling attacks. Its not even close honestly.
Root says he wanted to imitate Tendulkar… so when is he gonna start playing those iconic straight drives and handle pressure in world cup knockouts? Oh wait, England already crashed out last time. Classic.

For those wondering, Tendulkar scored 15,921 runs in 200 test matches with 51 centuries. Root currently has around 12,500+ runs and is closing in fast. The main difference is Sachin played in much tougher bowling conditions and carried the entire Indian batting lineup for years. Root has had better support from his teammates overall.
Wanting to imitate Sachin while playing for England is peak irony. Its like saying you want to be vegetarian while eating a steak lmao. Different eras, different pressures, different everything but sure Joe keep dreaming buddy.
The stats dont lie though Root averages around 50 in tests which is world class by any standard. He’s scored runs everywhere – India Australia Asia England you name it. Sure Sachin is the GOAT but Root is definitely one of the all time greats already. People need to put some respect on his name instead of just criticizing everything he does or says.
I dont get why people are so negative?? Let the man play his game. Root has been carrying England’s batting for years now and deserves all the praise he gets. Yeah Sachin was great but that doesnt mean Root cant be great too in his own way.
Oh sure, because imitating Tendulkar is *so easy*. Just score a few runs and suddenly you’re the next God of Cricket. Maybe try winning some important series first Joe?
Root is absolutely brilliant! He’s showing the world what consistency means in test cricket. The way he’s approaching Tendulkar’s record with such humility is just amazing to watch. Keep going Joe!
