The Indian versatile Venkatesh Iyer, one of the most expensive purchases of the 2025 IPL mega sale with a huge crore of 23.75 ₹, is likely to leave Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) before the next auction. With the IPL Trading window currently open, Venkatesh Iyer is likely to join the new franchise for the next season.

The Kolkata Knight Riders had broken the bank to Iyer, but things did not go as planned. The versatile only succeeded in an average of 20 in IPL 2025. Its shape dropped, then the injuries disturbed it, then it was finally deposited from the XI.

KKR EYE Ishan Kishan, Venkatesh Iyer ready to join SRH

Now, a Mykhel report has suggested that KKR is ready to separate from Venkatesh Iyer in difficulty. The report said KKR plans to negotiate Iyer for the Sunrisers Window Hyderabad (SRH), Batter Ishan Kishan, before IPL 2026.

Ishan had a decent season of 2025, marking 354 points for SRH and even breaking a century. Despite his decent season, Sunrisers Hyderabad would be ready to sacrifice Ishan for Iyer before the 2026 IPL auction. It is said that KKR and SRH were involved in commercial talks.

The left -handed striker fits perfectly into the KKR plan while looking for a first -rate aggressive counter goalkeeper. On the other hand, Sunrisers Hyderabad is looking for a powerful average versatile order. Iyer could be the solution if he finds the form.

The reports indicate that the two teams consider this business as a win-win, but there is not yet an official word. In the midst of these talks, there is more dramatic brewing, because even the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) could jump in the race to exchange Venkatesh Iyer. With the open IPL trading window, this could be one of the largest swaps before the IPL 2026 auction.

CSK and GT in race for Glenn Maxwell; Liam Livingstone began to leave RCB

Meanwhile, the Kings of Punjab (PBKS) are also interested in negotiating Glenn Maxwell. The Australian versatile had a bad season with PBKS, scoring only 48 points in seven -rounds before an injury ended its season. Now media reports suggest that Chennai Super Kings (CSK) may be interested in involving Maxwell on board. Gujarat Titans (GT) could also take a step.

The GT is likely to release Glenn Phillips from New Zealand to make room for Glenn Maxwell. The next line is Liam Livingstone, who played for the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in IPL 2025 and has not met expectations either.

The versatile in England scored only 112 points in 10 games. The Mumbai Indians (Mi) and the super giants of Lucknow (LSG) would closely follow Liam Livingstone and could soon offer offers to the RCB, the IPL 2025 winners.

DC and Mi Eye Rishabh in a shocking trade agreement

But the most surprising commercial rumor surrounds Rishabh Pant. The star Indian Wcomkeketkeeper-Batter was chosen by Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) for a huge crore of 27 ₹ last season during the 2025 mega sale.

However, Pant did not have an excellent season, but it is very unlikely that the LSG separates from the most expensive player in the history of IPL. However, the Capitals of Delhi (DC) would now have eager to bring Pant on board before IPL 2026. Even MI showed his interest in Pant.

9 thoughts on “KKR should abandon Venkatesh Iyer for SRH Superstar in the high level before IPL 2026”
  1. Wow such groundbreaking analysis lol. Next youll say MI should abandon Rohit or CSK should drop Dhoni because why not? Every player goes thru bad patch but armchair experts on internet know everything better than professional coaches and management 👏

  2. Totaly agree with this!! Venkatesh has been incosistent for long time now. KKR need to look for better option and SRH have some amzing players who can fill that role perfectly. They should make this move before auction or they will regret later.

  3. Oh yes, lets just throw away players after couple bad games. Brilliant strategy! I’m sure every IPL team will start dropping their players based on such deep analysis. Maybe KKR should also abandon their stadium and play in parking lot? 🙄

  4. If we looking at statistics from last 2 seasons, Venkatesh average has dropped from 35 to 24 in middle order. Meanwhile SRH players like Abdul Samad and Abhishek Sharma showing consistency in pressure situations. KKR already have solid top order so they need finishing power which SRH players can provide.

  5. But which SRH player exactly?? You cant just say ‘SRH superstar’ without naming them! And how you know they even available? SRH will also retain their best players. This whole argument is based on nothing concrete. Give proper names and analysis first.

  6. I partially agree but timing is wrong. Before IPL 2026 is too early to make such big decision. Wait atleast till mid season if Venky dont perform then consider options.

  7. Intresting point but need more context. Which specific SRH player you refering to and what is their recent performance data? Also what about team combination and balance? KKR won trophy with this combination so drastic changes might backfire completly. Need to think about chemistry and team dynamics also not just individual performence.

  8. This is the most ridiculus take I seen today. Venkatesh won them matches and now you want to abandon him?? What kind of logic is this, seriously? KKR management knows better than random internet experts.

  9. SRH superstar? You mean the same team that finished bottom half last season? 😂 Maybe KKR should also trade Starc for local pacer and Narine for part-time spinner from corporate cricket. Revolutionary thinking bro!
