  1. Lmao imagine being so ‘unstable’ that you score runs in World Cup finals. Maybe this teammate should focus on their own stability instead of commenting 😅

  2. But how can u say his approach wasnt stable when he was opening batsman for India for so many years? If he was so unstable, selectors would have dropped him no? This argument doesnt make sense at all.

  3. Sure, lets listen to a former teammate who probably warmed the bench most of the time. I’m sure their opinion on test cricket stability is very valueable. Next, we’ll ask the waterboy about batting techniques?

  4. Interesting take. Would be good to know which specific aspects of his approach was unstable – was it technical, mental, or tactical? Without details this just sounds like vague criticism without substence.

  5. What nonsense! Gambhir scored 4000+ runs in tests with an average of 41+. How is that not stable?? People just want to critcize him becoz of his strong opinions. This former teammate is just jealous.

  6. Oh yes, very ‘unstable’ indeed. Thats why he scored those crucial runs in 2011 WC final and that 97 in 2007 WT20 final. Clearly a very unreliable player lol.

  7. Look, Gambhir had a decent test carrer but not a great one. His average was okayish around 41. He was definately better in limited overs formats where his agressive style worked. In tests, you need more patience and tehnique which he struggled with on difficult pitches. So the teammate has a point, even if its bit harsh to say publicly.

  8. Gambhir playing test cricket is like my uncle driving on highway – starts confidently, gets nervous in middle, and somehow survives till the end 😂 But atleast he made it work unlike this teammate who is giving gyan now!

  9. Totally agree with this assesment. Gambhir was always too agressive for test matches, his temprament was suited for T20s only. Test cricket need patience and consistancy which he lack sometimes.

  10. I think there is some truth here. His footwork against pace was always questionable outside off stump. He got out in similar ways repeatedly. But credit where its due, he was mental strong in big games.

  11. For context, Gambhir played 58 test matches between 2004-2016. He had 9 centuries and 22 fifties. His conversion rate was actualy decent but he did have phases where he struggled against spin on turning tracks. The inconsistency came more from team selection than his approach I think.

  12. This is completly unfair criticism! Every player has their ups and downs. Gambhir gave his best for country and won us important trophys. Why we always pull down our own players after they retire??
