“Need to improve …”: Chennai Super Kings Batting Coach makes an explosive IPL 2025 revelation

On Tuesday, Chennai Super Kings coach Mike Hussey admitted that the five -time champions were to improve in the identification and development of young talents. In language currently at the bottom of the point table, CSK’s difficulties this season have been largely attributed to a disappointing auction strategy. Although the franchise has managed to revive the career of experienced players like Ajinkya Rahane and Shivam Dube, he continues to face criticisms for not having invested enough in emerging talents. “I think that we have really identified that we want to improve is the talent identification side,” said Hussey.

“So, we brought in different players and train with us at different stages, almost in trials a little, but also when their names arise for an auction, then at least we saw them, we had their eyes on them.” With opening combinations of Rachin Ravira, Devon Conway and Rahul Tripathi who does not deliver in a coherent way, CSK turned to young people.

The team gave the IPL to AYUSH MHATRE, 17, and to Shaik RASHEED, 20, after having followed them in their match simulation training in their high performance center. They also bought the 22-year-old South African Dewald Brevis.

“I mean, we are sent all the videos, parcel and everything. But to be able to look at them in the flesh, it gives you a little more.

“If we can play training matches, see them (young) under pressure, we can make more informed decisions about the talent that we plan to move forward,” said Hussey before the IPL match of CSK against Punjab Kings.

The Australian believes that although errors in recruitment are inevitable, the bases laid could now pay long -term dividends.

“We will always make mistakes, without a doubt. But if we can make more informed decisions, then I think it will help the franchise to move forward.

“It is a magnificent installation, this high performance center. It is a fantastic resource for us, so we have to use it. And to be able to put the players in situations in the training games that are closer to the match.

“I mean, we can beat in the nets, and that’s good, but exposing them in a game situation in training is closer to what they are going to live in a match.” Hussey added that the franchise will also continue to monitor these young players in their national games to be better prepared for the next season.

“We will also monitor them when they play their domestic things and continue to work with them.

“It is not only to work with them during these two and a half months, he always makes it communicate and work with them throughout the year, and see how they are, in particular in these situations of pressure, seeing what their mentality looks like.” Punjab Kings, James Hopes’s rapid bowling coach, conceded that the team’s average order had trouble having an impact in recent games.

“This can become quite difficult when the upper order is doing well and the chances are limited. Our intermediate order has not faced many bullets in the past two weeks. They train well. They will come well and will have their moments if necessary,” he said.
