Last week, speculation turned around promising promising promising Nitish Kumar Reddy And his future with Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH)The Indian Premier League franchise (IPL) belonging to Kavya Maran. The reports suggest that after a difficult IPL 2025 season, Reddy was considering an outing, supposed to be dissatisfied with his role in the team.

Does Nitish Reddy separate with SRH?

Speculations began when some media reported that Reddy, kept by SRH for 6 sterling books before the 2025 IPL mega sales mega, was not satisfied with his shot position and limited bowling opportunities during the season. Despite an escape in 2024 in which he scored 303 points and became a crucial figure in the SRH resurgence, the 2025 season saw Reddy manage only 182 points in 13 appearances – the thread at the bottom of the Order and the bowling alley only a handful of Overs.

These reports quickly gained ground, suggesting that the player could seek a new opportunity with another franchise before IPL 2026, especially since SRH finished sixth in 2025 – disappointing follow -up of their race for the final a year earlier.

Sunday, July 27, Reddy directly discussed speculation via X (formerly Twitter), writing:

โ€œI tend to stay away from noise, but some things deserve clarity. My link with SRH is built on confidence, respect and years of shared passion. I’m always going to stay next to this team. โ€

He underlined the confidence and mutual respect he shares with the management of the SRH, which saw him develop a national talent to an international caliber player during his stay with the team.

  1. Plot twist: Nitish never even THOUGHT about leaving but media needed content for slow news day so they invented entire controversy ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚ Tomorrow headline: “Did Nitish Kumar Reddy eat breakfast today? Sources say MAYBE” Classic journalism

  2. For those who dont know context – Nitish scored 303 runs at strike rate of 142 in last IPL season plus took 3 wickets. His all-round ability make him valuable asset for any franchise specially SRH who invested in his development from ground up. The rumours started because some media portal misquoted his interview but team managment has now officially denied any such plans.

  3. So we all suppose to believe everything is perfect now just because they released one statment? What about the reports from multiple sources earlier?? Something doesnt add up here if you ask me. Where there’s smoke there’s fire usually

  4. Why everyone acting like SRH doing some favour?? Nitish proved himself and deserve better contract terms. If he want to explore options its his RIGHT as professional. Team loyalty is two way street not one side always.

  5. Finally some clarity on this issue! Nitish is such talented player and SRH woud be foolish to let him go. The management knows his value thats why they clearing the air so fast.

  6. Important to note that IPL retention rules changed this year. Teams can retain up to 5 players now with specific salary caps: first retention 18cr, second 14cr, third 11cr etc. Nitish likely falls in 3rd or 4th retention category given his recent performence and age. SRH’s core probably includes him along with few senior players so this statement make sense from strategic perspective.

  7. Oh great, another ‘clearing the air’ statement that clears absolutely nothing haha. Next week they’ll be ‘clearing the air’ about clearing the air. Classic IPL off-season entertainment!

  8. Another year another retention drama. Honestly tired of this news cycle. Wake me up when actual cricket starts because this off season gossip is so boring and repetative

  9. lol Kavya Maran must be really worried loosing sleep over this i’m sure ๐Ÿ˜‚ Meanwhile Nitish probably just want to play cricket and everone making mountain out of molehill. Media nowadays SMH

  10. Nitish: *breathes*
Media: IS HE LEAVING SRH??? BREAKING NEWS!!!
    SRH: No he’s not leaving
    Media: *surprised pikachu face*

This drama better than bollywood movies i swear ๐Ÿคฃ

  11. This is just PR talk honestly. Every season same drama with retention and players contracts. They say one thing do another thing completly different lol
