  1. Wow PT Usha recognizing gamers! Whats next, Neeraj Chopra giving medal to someone who played javelin throw in video game? 😂

  2. Finally some recognition! About time traditional sports figures started acknowledging esports as legitimate competition. The Wave Championships was incredibly well organized and showcased real talent. Hope this opens more doors for young gamers who want to pursue this professionally.

  3. Why she is wasting time on video games? Real athletes work hard physically and these gamers just sit infront of screen. This is not real sport no matter who says what. We should focus on actual olympic games not this nonsense.

  4. But have anybody actually checked if these players are getting proper training facilities? Or its just photo opportunity? We need proper infrastructure academies coaching not just applause and moving on to next thing.

  5. Congratulation to all the winners!! This is huge step for esports in India. PT Usha ma’am support means a lot for gaming community. Very proud moment for all of us!

  6. People saying esports not real sport clearly never watched competitive gaming. The reflexes, strategy, teamwork required is insane. Just becouse its not physical doesnt mean its easy or not worthy of recognition.

  7. The Wave Championships had participants from 15 states including some rural areas which shows the reach of esports. Prize distribution was transparent and winners received their amount within 48 hours of tournament end. The production quality was also broadcasted professional level comparable to international tournaments.

  8. So sitting and playing games is championship now? What next, championship for watching Netflix?? Our youth is already addicted to phones and now we celebrating this addiction. Great job everybody!

  9. This is wonderfull news really! Esports deserves more mainstream attention in india and having legendary athlete like PT Usha supporting it is massive. The champions worked very hard and deserve all recognition they getting.

  10. Interesting that PT Usha is supporting this initiative. For those who dont know, the Wave Esports Championships featured multiple games including BGMI, Valorant and Free Fire with total prize pool exceeding 50 lakhs. Over 200 teams participated from accross the country.

  11. Great to see this happening but we also need to talk about health issues. These players sitting for 10-12 hours daily, what about their physical fitness? Hope along with support they also getting guidance for healthy lifestyle.
