The Champions League T20 (CLT20), which took place for the last time over ten years ago, is on the right track to make a bigger and better return. According to the latest reports, the International Cricket Council (ICC) is involved in discussions and should make key decisions concerning the revival of the tournament shortly.
The Champions T20 League was launched in 2008, with the first edition in 2009. It was supported by BCCI, Australian Cricket and South Africa Cricket, inspired by the format of the UEFA Champions League. However, the world tournament was interrupted in 2014 due to financial losses.

Plans are now underway for member councils to meet and finalize the structure and logistics of competition. One of the main challenges will be to solve the problem of multiplied property, because several franchise owners have team participations in different nations.
To supervise operations and ensure fair governance, the ICC should establish a board of directors or a similar regulatory body, as was done in the previous version of the League.
“Cricbuzz understands that international councils will soon meet to determine the methods of the league, in particular given the fact that many franchise owners have teams in several countries,” said the report.
Champions League T20 Revival Face Scale Challenge in the middle of the world arrow T20
The renewal has generated considerable excitation among fans, which are impatient to see marked clashes between the best teams of leagues such as IPL, BBL and PSL. The organizers will have to determine the scale and format of the Revive Champions League T20.
When the tournament was interrupted in 2014, the leagues based on franchises were limited to a few countries of testing. However, the T20 global landscape has grown rapidly over the past decade.
Today, there are about 11 major franchise leagues in the world, including The Hundred in England. Even associated countries like the United States and the United Arab Emirates have launched their tournaments, countries like Nepal and Canada also joining the trend.
Finding a slot machine and finalizing the teams pose challenges for the recovery of the Champions T20 League
One of the biggest obstacles to bring the T20 of the Champions League will be to find an appropriate window in an already wrapped international calendar. The organizers will also have to settle how teams from various leagues will be selected.
The BCCI and its flagship IPL should play a central role in the relaunched tournament, just as they did in the original version. In particular, the ECB, which has not participated in the previous edition, is now likely to get on board alongside Cricket Australia.
Although it is not yet confirmed which will be involved, South Africa Cricket, which was a founding member of the original League, could also be brought back to the fold.
Earlier, the BCCI, CA and CSA accepted a closure offered by Star Sports, the official broadcaster at the time. Star offered a remuneration agreement, which the advice accepted in 2015.
