One of these teams is about to have a rare sequence of two -game victories.
The Rockies and Royals open a three game set in Kansas City on Tuesday evening after the Colorado interrupted a slide from eight games and the Royals broke a skid of six games.
Kansas City pushed a 10th round race on Sunday to pay the Detroit Tigers 4-3. The victory ended a difficult road trip against the Cleveland Guardians, the Yankees and the New York Tigers.
“Now build it,” said star stop Bobby Witt Jr., who hit the fly of the winning sacrifice on Sunday. “That’s all you can do now. … Now it’s just a good day, reset things and go home to our fans and be ready to go.”
The Royals only scored 22 points on the 10 game excursion and have not scored more than four in a match. They also granted six or more points four times.
The Royals manager Matt Quatraro believes that a turnaround is fast approaching.
“Listen, we know that we are going to go through difficult stretches,” said Quatraro. “It was a difficult road trip against the right teams. We are going to play better that we have played this week, that’s for sure. You don’t know when it will happen. But any day is an opportunity to get the most out of this.”
The Rockies put an end to their skid in the second match of a double-headed with a 3-1 home victory against the Washington Nationals. The Colorado lost the 3-2 opening.
Mickey Moniak has delivered a triple of two points in the team’s first winning effort since April 10.
The Rockies received a blow during the weekend when the Golden Glove Ezequiel Tovar (left hip) stop on the list of wounded 10 days.
Tovar will not be on the shelf for a long time. But that could be another story for Kris Bryant at high prices, who did the IL on April 14 due to another cycle of lower back problems.
Bryant beats lumbar degenerative diseases, and coherent rehabilitation and anti-inflammatory shots have not decreased pain. He struck .154 with a point produced in 11 games before leaving for the IL.
Surgery remains a possible option for Bryant, who is in the fourth season of a contract of $ 182 million over seven years.
“I also want to see all my options, so as not to, as, in constant pain and nausea, where I cannot eat, which was the situation today,” Bryant to journalists told on Sunday. “I woke up without feeling good. It’s just extremely frustrating.”
The right-hander Ryan Feltner (0-1, 4.82 ERA) will take the mound for the rocks on Tuesday.
Feltner, 28, had control problems while losing against the Los Angeles Dodgers on April 15. He published six goals on balls in 2 2/3 rounds and granted five points and five strokes.
When it was released, he only granted one point and three strokes in six rounds in a decision without a decision against the Brewers of Milwaukee.
Feltner never faced Kansas City during his career for more than four years. Cavan Biggio is 2 for 5 with three stick withdrawals against Feltner.
The left-hander Kris Bubic (2-1, 1.88) will seek to continue his solid departure for the Royals.
Bubic, 27, fueled 27 strikers in 24 rounds while giving only 20 strokes.
He won his first two starts of the season before losing against Cleveland and receiving a decision without a decision against New York during the road trip. At the start of last Wednesday against the Yankees, he granted three points and seven strokes in 5 1/3 rounds.
Bubic attracted two to a keyless round of relief last July in its only appearance against Colorado. Kyle Farmer is 3-in-4 with a circuit, a double and four points produced against Bubic.
