The reigning champions Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) won three victories and four defeats in the seven games in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025. On Monday April 21, they will try to climb on the table of points when they welcome Gujarat Titans (GT) at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata.
The KKR strikers’ department has dropped them a few times this season. In their latest match in Mullanpur, the team led by Ajinkya Rahane failed to chase a target of 112 points. After the overwhelming defeat, KKR will try to bounce back in front of their fans at home on Monday.
Before the highly anticipated confrontation, former Indian cricket player Aakash Chopra stressed that apart from the strikers of Mumbai Ajinkya Rahane and Angkrish Raghuvanshi, none of the KKR strikers was able to play their full potential. The cricket player who became an expert mentioned that Andre RussellRinku Singh and Ramandeep Singh have not played a good blow so far in the 18th edition of the IPL.
“KKR did everything for 95 in the last game. You have released everything for 115 years even in Mumbai. The stick has depth, but it became a concern because very few people are getting their weight on the side. Rahane and Raghuvanshi play well,” said Chopra in a video downloaded on her official Youtube channel.
“Apart from them, everyone is Mercurial. Venkatesh Iyer played a good round. Kock Quinton played a good round. Sunil Narine played a strange good round. Russell, Rinku and Ramandeep have not played a single good round so far. It is your problem,” he added.
Chopra also suggested that KKR should include an order for a hitter. He added that sometimes the strikers do not take adequate responsibility when there is depth in the range of strikers.

The Gujarat titans are strongly dependent on their first three strikers – Shubman Gill, Sai Sudharsan and Jos Buttler. This trio has scored almost 70% of Gujarat races this season. Chopra said that the 2022 champions will hope for another solid performance on Monday. He also said that Sherfane Rutherford obtaining races in the last match against Delhi’s capital would give the team a certain confidence.
“It is not understandable, but Gujarat plays well. The first three together do a good job. It is a wonderful story. They will depend on them too. Sherfane Rutherford has played well in the last match for sure, it is a good addition,” he said.

The 47 -year -old man estimated that Shubman’s reluctance to use Sai Kishore against left -handed strikers and the lamentable form of Rashid Khan are areas of concern for titans.
“Prasidh Krishna is doing the bowling alley very well, but Arshad Khan and Ishant Sharma, and will you not do Sai Kishore Bowl if a left-hander comes? So, there are a few question points, and that he was not done by Rashid Khan.
