Shubman Gill’s gold race in the series of current tests against England has taken another stage on day 5 to Old Trafford. The Indian captain marked his fourth century in the series, becoming only the third skipper in the history of the test to mark four hundred in a single series, alongside Sir Don Bradman and Sunil Gavaskar.

Stokes withdrew Kl Rahul for 90, ending a 188 -point stand that stabilized India. Shortly after the dismissal of Rahul, Gill fell to Jofra Archer on 103. However, his contribution had already obtained a place in the history of cricket.

  1. lol this headline tho 😂 tomorrow they gonna say he’s better than all players combined in cricket history

  2. Left Kohli behind? Are you kidding me?? Kohli has 8000+ test runs and 29 centuries. What has Gill done to deserve this comparison? This is completly disrespectful to Kohli’s achievements!

  3. I mean Gill is definitely showing promise but we need to be patient. Bradman is literaly in a league of his own – nobody will ever match his average. However, Gill does have the potencial to become one of India’s greatest if he maintains consistency over the next decade.

  4. Lets look at the stats properly. Gill has scored 1500+ runs in his last 20 innings with an average hovering around 55. Gavaskar at the same stage of his carrer had similar numbers. The comparison is not completly baseless if you actually analyse the data instead of reacting emotionaly.

  5. the way gill played in last test was magnificient! his cover drives reminds me of young dravid mixed with gavasakar’s solid defence

  6. Seriously? Gill is good but comparing him to Bradman is just ridiculuos. He needs to play atleast 50 more test matches before we can even think about such comparisions. This headlines are getting out of hand these days.

  7. Bradman comparison after 30 test matches… sure why not. While we’re at it lets also compare my local club player to Tendulkar because he scored a century last week. The delusion is real folks.

  8. Oh yes, after 4 good innings he’s suddenly equal to Bradman who averaged 99.94 over his entire career. Makes perfect sense. Next week he’ll probably be better than Sachin too. 🙄

  9. Leaving Kohli behind? Really? REALLY?? Kohli transformed test cricket for India with his aggresive approach and consistancy across all conditions. One good season doesn’t make someone greater than a legend. This kind of journalism is whats wrong with cricket media today.

  10. Media always does this – hype up young players with rediculous comparisons only to tear them down later when they have one bad series. Can we just let Gill play his cricket without putting this immense preasure on him?

  11. Gill’s temperment in tough situations has been impressive I’ll give him that. But the headline is pure clickbait. He’s got a long way to go before we start putting him in the same sentance as these legends.

  12. Finally someone recognizes Gill’s talent!! His technique is absolutly flawless and he has that calm temprament like Gavaskar used to have. The boy is destined for greatness!
