The Dallas Wings are looking for consecutive victories for the first time this season when they go to a match against Connecticut Sun in difficulty on Friday in Uncasville, Conn.

The teams played earlier this year, Dallas dominating 109-87 on May 27 in Connecticut to win his first victory during his fifth outing of the season.

The Wings (2-11) come back to the road after beating Golden State 80-71 Tuesday at home. The recruit Paige Bueckers paid 20 points despite the missing of his five attempts of 3 points. Arike Ogunbowale added 19 points, Kaila Charles struck 10 points from the bench and Nalyssa Smith achieved a top of 10 rebounds.

“It was really only a full team effort,” said Bueckers after the victory. “All those who played had an impact in one way or another and contributed to victory, so it was really good to bring everything together.”

Dallas managed a sequence of seven consecutive defeats and won for the first time at home in six attempts.

“It feels good to win the victory and we have to learn to win,” said Dallas coach Chris Koclanes. “You saw a different tenacity in the last five minutes to really get it – we went and we took it.”

The Sun (2-10) abandoned four consecutive competitions, more recently a setback of 83-75 at home against Phoenix on Wednesday. The Connecticut, playing the second in a consecutive road house after losing in Indiana on Tuesday, was led by 16 points and nine rebounds of Aneesah Morrow and nine rebounds of the bench while Jacy Sheldon added 13 points and Olivia Nelson-Oododa accumulated 10 points and 14 rebounds.

“How we faced (Phoenix) is a good step for us,” said Connecticut coach Rachid Meziane. “So, I will be optimistic for the next game because if we are able to play like that, I am sure that the next game can be more positive for us. It means that we are on a good path.”

Wednesday’s defeat against Phoenix has marked the first time that Connecticut has abandoned a regular season game in Mercasville since 2015. The defeat also pushed the sun in a link for the franchise record for the worst start of 12 games. They were also 2-10 in 2016.
