  1. Melton went 6.2 innings, allowed only 3 hits and 1 earned run with 7 strikeouts. His fastball was sitting 94-96 mph all night and his slider had ridiculous movement. The D-Backs couldn’t touch him after the 3rd inning.

  2. Next thing you know they’ll be comparing him to Verlander because he beat the mighty D-Backs. What’s next, a statue outside Comerica Park?

  3. Everyone’s a expert after one start. Let’s see how he does when teams have film on him and can adjust there approach. Second time through the league is the real test.

  4. Yeah but did anyone see his pitch count? 98 pitches through 6.2 innings isnt exactly efficient. Plus he walked 3 batters wich could of been way worse if D-Backs had any clutch hitting.

  5. Wow what a performace by Melton!! This kid got serious potential, been watching him in minors and knew he’d do great things. Tigers finally got themselves a real ace in the making!!

  6. LOL Tigers fans acting like they just won the World Series. Its literally ONE game against a garbage team. Call me when he does this against a real lineup.

  7. Oh sure, because beating the D-Backs is totally the same as winning a Cy Young award. Someone alert the Hall of Fame committee immediately.

  8. Solid debut. Melton showed good command and didn’t let the moment get to big for him. His mechanics looked clean and he attacked the zone. If he can stay healthy, Tigers might have something special here.

  9. People saying this is impressive clearly didn’t watch the game. D-Backs were swinging at everything, their approach was terrible. Any decent pitcher would of looked good against that lineup tonight.

  10. This kids changeup is absolutely filthy! Was at the game and you could hear the D-Backs batters cursing from the stands lmao

  11. Congrats to Melton!! First win is always special no matter who its against. Kid worked hard to get here and deserves all the props. Tigers fans gotta be excited about this one!

  12. Great, so the Tigers are celebrating beating a team that can’t hit water if they fell out of a boat. Real impressive stuff there guys.

  13. One game and everyone loses their minds lol. D-Backs are literally one of the worst hitting teams this season so lets not act like he dominated the Yankees or something.
