  1. dominates?? lmao he gave up hard contact all game and only looked good cuz the Diamondbacks forgot how to hit apparently. call me when he does this against the Yankees or Dodgers then maybe ill be impressed

  2. So we’re supposed to celebrate beating the Diamondbacks now? What’s next, a parade for winning a spring training game? The bar is really low these days huh.

  3. Oh sure, ONE win and suddenly he’s the savior of the franchise. I’m sure this will age well when he gives up 8 runs in his next start lol. Tigers fans never learn do they?

  4. I dont get all the hype honestly. The Diamondbacks are literally one of the worst hitting teams right now so of course he looked good against them. Lets see him do this against a real lineup before we start calling him the next ace or whatever.

  5. My man Troy out here pitching like he’s in MLB The Show on rookie mode 😂 Diamondbacks batters looking like they never seen a baseball before. But hey a win is a win I guess, congrats to him!

  6. For those wondering about his stats: Melton went 6.1 innings, gave up only 2 hits, 1 earned run, walked 2 and struck out 7. His ERA is now sitting at 3.24 after this performance. Not bad for a rookie debut win.

  7. Interesting that everyone ignores the fact that the Diamondbacks are missing their three best hitters right now. Context matters people. Yes Melton pitched well but lets not act like this was some incredible feat against a championship caliber team.

  8. This is huge for the Tigers rotation going forward. They desperately needed someone to step up with all the injuries theyve been dealing with. Melton showed composure beyond his years tonight, especially in that 5th inning when he had runners on 2nd and 3rd with only one out but managed to get out of it.

  9. Finally! About time someone stepped up for this team. Melton looked solid out there, his fastball was hitting corners all night. The Diamondbacks lineup couldn’t figure him out at all.

  10. Wow what a game! Troy really showed up and delivered when it mattered most. Been following the Tigers all season and this is exactly what we needed. Hope this is just the begining of many more wins for him!

  11. People saying he ‘dominated’ clearly didnt watch the same game I did. He got lucky on at least 3 hard hit balls that went right to fielders. Plus the umpire was giving him calls all night that other pitchers dont get. This win is overrated if you ask me.
