  1. The irony of extending Metellus while letting actual talented players walk because of ‘cap space’ is not lost on me. But hey at least we secured our 4th string safety for the next decade right?

  2. Are you kidding me? This is the extensoin we prioritize?? We got bigger holes to fill on this roster and we throwing money at a backup safety. Front office is clueless as usual.

  3. Finally some good news!! Metellus has been solid for us this season cant wait to see what he does with more years. Management making smart moves for once lol

  4. Not bad not great just meh. He’s ok as a rotational guy but this better not be a huge contract or im gonna lose my mind

  5. For those wondering, Metellus has been playing really well in both coverage and run support. He had 83 tackles last season and graded pretty decent according to PFF. Multi-year deal probably means 2-3 years with team friendly terms since he was going into his contract year anyway.

  6. I love how everyone becomes a GM in the comments lol. Like half of you probably cant even name our starting linebackers but suddenly your experts on contract negotiations and salary cap management. Metellus is solid depth and special teams contributor, this is a smart low-risk move to keep continuity. Not every signing has to be a superstar

  7. Everyone saying this is great but did yall actually watch the games?? He gets burned in coverage constantly and cant tackle in open field. Name ONE game where he actually made a difference, I’ll wait…

  8. Breaking news: local football team signs football player to play football. More at 11. In other shocking developments water is still wet and the Vikings still wont win a superbowl in my lifetime lmaooo

  9. LETS GOOO!! Josh is a dawg and he deserves this!! People dont understand how important his versatility is for our defense scheme

  10. So we’re just gonna ignore that he missed like half the tackles in the playoff game last year? But sure lets lock him up long term that makes total sense if your trying to stay mediocre forever

  11. Oh wow, a multi-year extension for a safety who’s main contribution is… *checks notes*… being on the field sometimes. Truly groundbreaking stuff from our front office. I’m sure this is exactly what will put us over the top lmao
